Write a commentThe Zonta Club of Oswego is accepting nominations for the Amelia Earhart Woman of Achievement Award. This year will mark the 34th presentation of the award to a women whose hard work and dedication has made a difference in her community.
“Through this award, we seek to honor a woman who is a leader and who is dedicated to community service. We look for a woman who dreams of what can be and then goes out and gathers people around her who can make that dream happen,” explained club president Tammy Thompson. “If you know of a woman who is committed to doing what’s right, who gives freely, and shares her time and talents to benefit those around her, we encourage you to honor her hard work by submitting a nomination,” Thompson added.

As a save the date, note that the 2018 Amelia Earhart Woman of Achievement Dinner will be held at the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center in Oswego on Tuesday, June 19, 2018. Sponsors are being solicited for the event, the proceeds of which are used to fund Zonta scholarships and other club activities that are aimed at increasing the status of women.
