Write a commentThe Art Scene (formerly the CNY Arts Center) is hosting a night of one-page plays written by you: the community.
All members of the public, regardless of their level of experience, are invited to submit their ideas for short-form theatre to be performed by a cast of seasoned actors.
WordPlay, The Art Scene's new writers group, hosts this evening of micro-plays on September 19th at 7pm in The Art Scene (121 Cayuga Street, Fulton, NY 13069). All members of the public are invited to attend this exciting evening of new creations.
The organizers wish to emphasize that "this is a night of low-stakes fun. It's the perfect opportunity to dip your toes into the less perilous waters of dramaturgy. The majority of submissions are from first-time authors, they're the people you see at line at the store, your favorite teacher from elementary school, they might even be your own sweet grandma."
"Why, someone sent a play that's only five-lines long," they continue. "Anyone with a computer, or even just a pen and paper, can write a page of just two people talking. This is your chance to finally impress your family and friends. Be a celebrated playwright in their eyes, and you don't even have to fill a single sheet of paper."
