 Today, we remember the nearly 3,000 precious lives taken from us 24 years ago, and we pay tribute to the extraordinary courage of first responders, volunteers and ordinary Americans who, in the face of unimaginable tragedy, stepped forward with strength and compassion.

In light of the recent events in Cato, where 57 individuals were detained by ICE agents, I feel compelled to speak—not only as the mayor of Oswego, but as the son of an immigrant whose story continues to shape my values and convictions.

In a 1917 telegram, former French Prime Minister Georges Clemenceau wrote, oil is "as necessary as blood."

The next meeting of the Oswego County Legislature is on Thursday, September 11th at 7pm in the Oswego County Building on 46 East Bridge Street.

King Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia asked in 1938, "Do you know what they will find when they reach Mars? They will find Americans out there in the desert hunting for oil."

Labor Day is a time to celebrate the dedication and contributions of New Yorkers.
