Members of the Lake City Police Club present Carolyn Handville, coordinator of Oswego County Opportunities (OCO) Cancer Services Program with a donation in support of the program.

Members of the Oswego Police Department raised funds as part of their participation in No Shave November. “Our goal was to grow awareness for cancer prevention by embracing our hair, which many cancer patients lose throughout treatment,” said Officer Justin Grasso. “We’re very appreciative of the efforts of the Lake City Police Club and the support we receive from the community in helping us promote the importance of regular cancer screenings,” added Handville.

OCO’s Cancer Services Program provides free cancer screenings including clinical breast exams, mammograms, pap/pelvic exams, and colon cancer screenings to uninsured men and women ages 50 to 64. For more information, or to schedule an appointment, contact the Cancer Services Program at 315-592-0830. Pictured with Handville from left are Sgt. James Cunningham, Lt. Charlie Searor and Officer Justin Grasso.
