Oswego County DSS Reports Issues with Telephone Service

Write a comment

The Oswego County Department of Social Services (DSS) is currently experiencing telephone service issues.

Staff have been unable to listen to voicemails left by clients since Thursday, Dec. 28 and therefore cannot return those phone calls.

In addition, some callers have reported not hearing music while waiting to be transferred, so they thought their call had been dropped and hung up before leaving a voicemail.

The agency is currently working with the County’s technology office to address the issues and asking clients for their patience as they work to resume normal phone operations.

In the meantime, if someone has not received a call back from DSS staff from a message they left in the last two days, they can send an email to either snap@oswegocounty.com or temporaryassistance@oswegocounty.com with their original message and a call-back telephone number. People can also try calling DSS again beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 2.
