Oswego County FCU Celebrates April As ‘Youth Month’

Oswego County FCU Celebrates April As ‘Youth Month’

Oswego County Federal Credit Union (OCFCU) is promoting smart and safe financial decision making for young adults this April as they celebrate Youth Month. Youth Month is a perfect opportunity to encourage children and young adults to enhance their knowledge about finance, said Bill Carhart, OFCU CEO.

“We’re offering programs that help teach and encourage kids to develop good financial habits,” said Bill Carhart, OCFCU CEO. “Youth Month gives children an incentive to begin saving the money they earn so they can attain their dreams of a happy future. Our STAGES program provides pre-teens and teens the opportunity to learn how to handle money responsibly and arm them with good financial life skills. Every member of the credit union under the age of 18 who opens an account and/or deposits into their account during April will receive fun gifts. At the end of the month we will put all these names in a drawing and pick three lucky winners of some great prizes. Visit any of our four branches to participate.”

“We currently serve the financial needs of members from throughout Oswego County,” said Danielle Hayden, OCFCU business development specialist. “Unlike other financial institutions, which need to generate profits in order to satisfy stockholders, we return excess earnings to our members as competitive interest rates on loans, savings and investment accounts, as well as cutting-edge new products and services.
“If you live, work, worship or attend school in Oswego County, you are eligible to join our family.”

OCFCU was chartered in 1975 and serves residents and business owners of Oswego County. OCFCU serves over 12,000 members throughout the county. For further information visit www.oswegofcu.org. Offices are located at 90 East Bridge Street Oswego, 300 West 1st Street Oswego, 707 S. Fourth St., Fulton, and 5828 Scenic Avenue (Rt.3), Mexico.
