The Oswego County Historical Society cordially invites everyone to attend the annual "Christmas Open House" at the Richardson-Bates House Museum at 135 E.Third St., in Oswego. The event will take place from 1-5 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 2, and is free and open to the public.

Tours of the period rooms and exhibits, along with cookies and punch and holiday music, will be featured. The museum will have wreaths, roping and a tree to make it even more festive for the holidays.
"The Richardson-Bates House will be beautifully decorated in the traditional Christmas decor," Justin White, board member, said. "Everyone is welcome to bring their family and friends to visit and enjoy the ambiance of Christmas past."
The board of trustees of the society wishes to thank the members, local businesses, organizations and the community for all of their generous support over the years.
"It is the generosity of the public that keeps the history alive," White said.
The historical society has many events and programs throughout the year, including lectures, open houses, special events and fund-raisers. To keep informed on the society's programs and projects, visit the society website at www.rbhousemuseum.org for more information.
The Oswego County Historical Society is a non-profit organization founded in 1896 and dedicated to the collection, promotion and interpretation of the historical resources of the county. From April to December the museum is open Thursday through Saturday from 1-5 p.m. and other days by appointment.
For more information call the museum at 343-1342.
