The Oswego Players 75th season is winding down with two more shows to go plus a co-production with the Church of the Resurrection of the very popular "Death in the O.R.," adapted by Dr. Michael Nupuf.
"Death in the OR," directed by Inez Manor Parker, will reprise as a dinner theater at the church at Oct. 24 and 25. Two sold-out performances during the summer were very well received, so if you missed it the first time around, here is another opportunity to take it in. Dinner is at 6:30 p.m. with the show at 7:30. Tickets are $25 for dinner and show, and $10 for the show only. Seating is limited so reserve early.
Coming up in November is "On Borrowed Time," directed by Richard Mosher and stage-managed by Amy Price. This popular Broadway play was written by Paul Osborne, based on the novel of the same name by Lawrence Edward Watkin. In this presentation, the Players welcome back to their stage Jonathan C. Altman and Anne Raynor. Altman will be remembered as the famous "Music Man" from Meredith Willson's classic in the summer of 2011. Raynor plays "Granny" and is memorable for her role in "A Short Stay at the Whispering Pines," written and directed by our own Rick Sivers.
Other cast members are Wayne Mosher, Matthew Oldenburg, Joannie Anderson, Peter Mahan, Beverly Murtha, Charlie Stoutenger, Jim Oldenburg, Michael Moss, Kyle Walton, Troy Pepper, Zach Dumott and Tippy (as Betty the Dog).
This drama will open at 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 15, in the Frances Marion Brown Theater in the Oswego Arts Center at Fort Ontario. Performances will continue at 8 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 16, and the following weekend, Nov. 22-23, with a 2 p.m. matinee Sunday, Nov. 24.
Tickets are $10/adults, $8/seniors and $7/students. Reservations are recommended, and can be made at the Players' Box Office at 315-343-5138.
