The Oswego Players 85th season continues with The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, the award-winning play based on the novel by Mark Haddon and adapted by Simon Stephens.

Matthew Fleming directs this production, running April 21s 22nd, 23rd, and April 28th, 28th, 30th at The Francis Marion Brown Theatre, “the little theatre by the water” in the historic Fort Ontario barracks building.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, revolves around 15-year-old Christopher, and the unique way he experiences life around him. Christopher has an extraordinary mind, making him exceptionally skilled at things like mathematics but leaving him in the dark when it comes to social interactions. He has lived a fairly sheltered life in his quiet neighborhood, with his parents, and his teacher Shioban to guide and support him, until at 7 minutes after midnight he finds himself standing over his neighbor’s dead dog, and his life turns upside down. Christopher sets out to solve this mystery, and in the process, shows himself, and others, that he is stronger than even he believed.

This production has been generously supported by the Oswego County Autism Task Force during Autism Awareness Month. The talented cast of local actors in this production includes: Kevin Colvin, Bill Cowham, Stephanie Johnson, Kristin Cook, Scott Bandla, Tammy Thompson, Rebecca Hill Kandt, Pablo Mendoza, Hannah Kandt, Ethan Fowler, and Wayne Mosher. The show is presented in an abstract format with minimal set, costumes, and props, using projected images, lights, sounds, and actors for most effects. This show does contain some strong language and may not be suitable for younger audience.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time runs weekends from April 21st – 30th. Friday and Saturday evening performances are at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday performances are at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for senior and students, and can be purchased online at oswegoplayers.org or by phone at 315 343-5138.
