The Oswego County Pioneer Search and Rescue Team will hold a pancake breakfast with all the fixings from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday, Nov. 19 at the Lake City Masonic Lodge, 765 E. Seneca St., Oswego.

The event is the team’s major fundraiser. Tickets are $8 for adults; $5 for children ages six to 16; and free for kids age five and under.

Formed 46 years ago, the Oswego County Pioneer Search and Rescue Team was the first civilian search and rescue team in New York State. The team participates in searches for missing persons across New York State. Members complete more the 100 hours of initial training, followed by continuing education and team training. The team works closely with NYS DEC Forest Rangers, NYS Police, and local law enforcement. All members are certified Project Lifesaver operators.

“We appreciate the support of Lake City Lodge No. 127 in helping us raise funds to support our training and equipment needs,” said team director Aaron Albrecht.

Copies of local author Jim Farfaglia’s book, “Pioneers: The Story of Oswego County’s Search and Rescue Team,” will be available for purchase at the breakfast.
