Everything on Earth
A child walked into the room with his hands behind his back
And his parents kneeling with wet bruised faces from being attacked
A woman curled in a waiting room, security trying to escort her out
Her womb is slowly killing her as she begins to shout.
There’s groups of people in a plane displaced from a life they almost died for
A test to their perseverance once again some people must have it harder
She’s definitely white and privileged, so she must not understand
While all her life she’s sacrificed her mind and body for a man
All he did was walk outside to breathe in some fresh air
As he held his husband’s hand
with love, their killers didn’t care
The money speaks so loudly that it drowns out all the screams
As we slowly kill those chanting about having different dreams
The protests end in murders at the hands of a Neighbor and a friend
Who collected tallies for their actions they swear for a country they defend.
The truth behind this separation, is it rapes us of our minds
As we are bleeding out our hearts in the messiest of times
Leaders sit on piles of money, pushing hate into our lives
Because nothing would serve them better, than when a majority divides.
Unfortunately, time will be our only ally as conflict grows too far from its roots
And the only means to finding truth is by consuming its poisoned fruits.
Let’s pray that we can fold our cards even after all the chips to bet it’s worth
If we gamble until we’ve lost our hand, we’re risking everything on earth.
