During the month of June, Lakeside Artisans, a co-op of artists, is offering a variety of creative arts classes.
Michele Southgate will teach a class from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, June 8, in decorating silk scarves using the technique "batik," an Indonesian technique using wax resist.
Carol Burghart will teach a watercolor painting class from 2-5 p.m., Monday, June 10. Beginners and experienced painters are welcome.
Kathy Fenlon will teach a class in making small summer bags from 5-8 p.m., Monday, June 17. Participants will be able to choose from a wide variety of fabrics on hand. Some portable machines are available for use by participants but bringing your own machine is encouraged.

In addition to classes, Lakeside Artisans will host a series of demonstrations by local artists on Thursday evenings during the Farmers' Market. Carol Burghart will present a watercolor painting demonstration, June 6; Sue Nix, her precious metal clay techniques, June 13; Cindy Schmidt, hand-painted silk scarves, June 20; and Michele Southgate, collage, June 27.
