U.S. Rep. John Katko (NY-24) today announced over $600,000 in funds from the U.S. Department of Education will be provided to SUNY Oswego and Onondaga Community College.

This funding is available through the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund authorized by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, legislation Rep. Katko supported in the House.

“I am proud today to announce that over $600,000 in funds from the CARES Act will be provided to Onondaga Community College and SUNY Oswego,” said Rep. Katko. “These funds will help address the wide range of challenges facing these higher education institutions as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, including the need to provide emergency assistance to students, strengthen investments in distance learning, and maintain safe work environments for our educators. I will continue working with my colleagues in Congress to advance policies that support our students and educators during this unprecedented crisis.”
