Write a commentCommunity members, families, and students of all ages are coming together once again to show their Buccaneer spirit for Oswego schools and community this October 7, 2017.
All are invited to sport their Buc blue attire and walk or run in the second annual “Go Bucs 5k” on the Saturday of Homecoming weekend at Oswego High School. The event will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the high school with a finish leading into the Annual Homecoming Weekend’s BucFest organized by the Oswego Buc Boosters. Proceeds will benefit the Buc Boosters and their continued mission to support all student athletes, coaches and programs in the Oswego City School District.
“We are looking forward to building upon this successful event with a goal to boost both school and community spirit across generations, noted Julie Chetney, Race Director and Booster Board Member. “The 5K event is growing to become a popular a homecoming weekend tradition bringing our entire community together showing their Buccaneer pride.”
Registration is open by going to www.auyertiming.com. Early bird rates for both students and adults are active until September 23. Donations, and Buc Pride t-shirts can also be found on the event registration page. All are welcome to cheer on runners the morning of the race and attend BucFest following the event. Cost of registration increases on September 23. Limited same day registration will be available. Awards will be given to top finishers in each age group.
