While everyone is getting ready for Lent starting this week, one very important question needs to be addressed. Where are the Friday fish dinners?

To put this matter to rest, the team at iHeart has compiled a list of some of the best places in the county to get that mouthwatering haddock dinner.

An all-time favorite has been the Elks Lodge in both Oswego and Fulton. They put on a sensational dinner every Friday for $15 starting at 5 pm through 7pm. They have other seafood favorites available, also. The Fair Haven Fire Department has a dinner for $14, kids $7 with the opportunity to grab some tasty clam chowder on the side. Let’s not leave out The Woodchuck Saloon where blackened Cajun fish, fried fish and garlic grilled fish can add a little diversity to the Lent season fish fry. Don’t forget to grab a side of their award-winning mac and cheese. Yummy!

While in Fulton, be sure to hit up the Polish Home. Friday fish dinners are $12, scallop dinners $13, clam dinners $9, shrimp dinners $10, seafood platters $16 and sandwiches $7 available starting at 4:30 and ending at 7. Another Fulton staple is Mr. Mike’s. For over 40 years they have been serving the city with delicious seafood. You can also get your fish fix at Tavern on the Lock for a tasty treat.

Mexico VFW Auxiliary puts on the Veteran’s Fish Fry serving dinners for $12, sandwiches for $10, with several choices of sides available to soothe the palate. Right around the corner is the Mapleview Restaurant serving the community haddock dinners and other seafood sensations for the taste buds to savor. Let’s not forget The Driveway Inn –which is always hopping with satisfied customers.

Hastings Fire Department puts out a great Friday dinner every year. Fish dinners are $13 adults, $12 seniors, and $8 for kids. They also offer scallop dinners for $18, clams for $12, and a $7 chicken nugget dinner for those fussy kids. Can’t beat that!

The American Legion in Phoenix serves a fish dinner on Fridays starting at 12:30 for you early birds. For $12 you can get a dinner; sandwiches and other seafood are also available. Drive out of the village to the Pennellville Fire Department and pick up a dinner for $15 with mac and cheese. Sounds good to us!

A ride out to Central Square to the Toad Harbor Gun Club gives you a $12 fish dinner and $2 beers from 6-8pm (call ahead). Or you could stop over at the Divine Mercy Parish for an early 3:30 dinner for $15. The Red Onion Pizzeria serves a great fish dinner on Fridays, also.

Then on Good Friday, March 29, the event of the season- RUDY’s is open. We all know how that is. Delightful!

So now the list is out and there is just one problem – we only have 7 Fridays to try them all. If we’ve missed any, add them in the comments. Tell us what your favorites are this season, and most of all, enjoy!
