New York State tax forms have arrived at the Oswego Public Library. We received six boxes full of forms and instructions today and have placed them on shelves in the addition. Stop by any time during regular hours to pick these up.
The 1040, 1040A, and 1040EZ forms from the IRS arrived earlier in the week. The IRS will not be shipping any instructions, schedules, or other forms to distribution points this year. You can call them at 1-800-829-3676 or go online to www.IRS.gov/orderforms to get instructions and other forms besides the three supplied.
We are always willing to help people print or copy materials including tax instructions, schedules, and forms. The charge is $0.15 per page. We recently received a new public copier just inside the main E. 2nd St. doors that can also scan PDF files for emailing right from the machine. Options are available to scan to JPG or TIF formats and to save to USB flash drives.
Another new offering at the Library is access to Ancestry.com. There is an icon on our public computers or you can use our FREE wifi and search at AncestryLibrary.com with your own device.
All forms and instructions can be found online at irs.gov/Forms-&-Pubs and at tax.ny.gov/forms. New York State has a great site to guide you through FREE e-filing at tax.ny.gov/pit/efile.
The Oswego Public Library is open 10-8 Monday through Thursday, 10-5 Friday, and Noon-5 Saturday & Sunday.
