The H. Lee White Museum and Maritime Center will offer "Tales of the Haunted Harbor" this summer at 7 p.m., Friday, Aug 23, 2013, at the museum's NYS Derrick Boat No. 8.

The tales feature Jonel Langenfeld-Rial, professor of theater and theater in education at SUNY Oswego as the storyteller. Each year, she has been incorporating local youth and community members into the cast enhancing the audience's experience.

The planning meeting and informal auditions for specific characters and technical positions for this year's Tales will be held at 6 p.m., Monday, July 29 at the marine museum. at 6 pm. Children ages 9 and above and adults interested in being involved should come to the information meeting and be prepared to read from a script.

"Jonel has made a point to involve local talent in the production," noted Richard Bush, president of the H. Lee White Museum and Maritime Center. "She brings a rich history of performance and storytelling experience to an annual tradition."

The event is sponsored in part by Wayne Drug and NBT Bank, both longtime supporters of the Tales program and the Maritime Center.
