This summer's Harborfest Children's Musical will present a show about the meaning of family with a production, of “Disney’s 101 Dalmatians, Kids".

The story begins in the loving home of a pair of Dalmatian dogs, Pongo and Perdita, who have just produced a litter of fifteen puppies. During the climax of the play, the puppies are ripped away from their parents by a force of evil named Cruella Deville, but the ingenious way the parents find and rescue their children, shows how a family bands together to overcome every hurdle and hardship in the most difficult times.

The show features a cast of about 60 young people ranging in age from 1 to 16 years that come from all over the area including Oswego, Fulton, Hanibal, Mexico, New Haven, Martville, West Monroe, Camden, and Johnson City.

The cast and crew of the show also includes multiple individuals from the same family. A good example of these relationships might be the show Stage and Musical directors Lyndsie and Ken Jones a married couple, and their children Arianna, Leo and Elliot Jones are all part of the production.

Other families involved include the Metcalf's with Josie and Sean Metcalf, the Emmons with Dan And Olivia Emmons, the D'Angelo's with brothers Cameron and Ethan D'Angelo, the Bartlett's with Gabriella and Natalie Bartlett. the Syrell's with Sophia and Grace Syrell, the Kearn's with Isaac and Noah Kearns, two families of Osborn's including sisters Sydney and Layne Osborn in one family and Aislinn and Sage Osborn in another and the Mosher's with producers Wayne and Kelly Mosher along with grandchildren Odin and Olive Mosher and their cousin Ethan Mosher.

Ethan Mosher has an even deeper family relationship with Harborfest itself as he is the Great Grandson of the late Rosemary Nesbitt the founder of Harborfest, and the Maritime Museum, and also a distinguished theater professor at Oswego State University.

“Disney’s 101 Dalmatians Kids” is directed by Lyndsie and Ken Jones and is produced by Wayne and Kelly Mosher. Kelly Mosher will design the Costumes.

The show is a musical version of the 1956 children’s novel of the same name written by Dodie Smith. The story was adapted for the stage by Marcy Heisler , with music by Brian Smith, Dan Root, Martin Lee Fuller, Mel Leven, Randy Rogel, and Richard Gibbs; Lyrics by Marcy Heisler, Brian Smith, Dan Root, Martin Lee Fuller, Mel Leven, Randy Rogel, and Richard Gibbs; and the music for the show was adapted and arranged by Bryan Louiselle. The show is presented by special arrangement with Music Theatre International.

The Children's Musical has been a traditional part of Harborfest for several years, being produced and directed by former Oswego City School Music Teachers Roxanne Farden and Roberta Palange. With their retirement the Staff of the Oswego Children's Theater takes over the production. The show will presented several times during the Festival weekend on the Children's Stage at West Park.

Harborfest is one of the few admission-free music festivals in the country. It was founded with the mission of creating nationally recognized festivals and events that attract and engage a broad and diverse audience, celebrate and build community, and advance economic development in Oswego, New York. It would not be possible to continue the event without the massive continued support received from the City of Oswego, businesses, organizations, government entities, and individuals and family members.
