The Fulton Police Department held a swearing in ceremony for three new police officers today in Fulton City Court.
The ceremony opened with brief remarks from Fulton Mayor Jim Rice, who welcomed the new recruits and their families.
"It has been nearly three years since we have welcomed new recruits to this department," said Police Chief Michael Curtis. The department has been suffering from staff shortages and plans to welcome additional recruits by the end of the year.
Judge Spencer Ludington administered the oath for the three new officers: Steven Monnat, Logan Bonnell, and John Licciardello.
Holding the Bible during the swearing in ceremony for Steven Monnat was significant other Madison Forcione. Logan Bonnell's mother, Heather Demesey, held the Bible during his swearing in. John Licciardello was supported by multiple members of his family during his swearing in.
