On Tuesday, July 14th, at 6:00 p.m., members of the Oswego Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Support Group will hear a presentation from guest speaker, Carrie E. Garcia.
Ms. Garcia has a Bachelor’s degree from SUNY Cortland, a Master’s degree from West Virginia University in Speech Pathology and is a teacher of Speech/Hearing. She has three years of experience at Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center and over ten years at Upstate University Hospital, working with people of diverse backgrounds who have experienced a brain injury or other neurological disorder. She is a Certified Brain Injury Specialist.
Brain injuries can be very unpredictable in their consequences – they can affect who you are, the way you think, act, and feel in a matter of seconds. The Oswego TBI Support Group brings individuals affected by TBIs together to connect with and offer support to one another.
If you live in Oswego County and want to attend, the Support Group meeting will take place at the ARISE Oswego office located at 9 Fourth Ave in Oswego. Light refreshments will be served at 5:30 p.m. prior to the presentation. If you have any questions, contact Shannon Morrell at (315) 342-4088 x245 or Jennifer Torrese at (315) 342-4088 x224 or jtorrese@ariseinc.org.
