In recognition of Veterans Small Business Week, AmeriCU would like to present local veteran and entrepreneur, Sarah Stenuf.

Sarah Stenuf, a native of Syracuse, NY., served four years and a deployment to Afghanistan while in the U.S. Army.

Stenuf was a 15R - Apache crew chief out of Fort Drum, prior to being medically retired for epilepsy from a traumatic brain injury and subsequent post traumatic stress disorder. Finding help was not easily had for Stenuf and others like her but has since made it her life's mission is to educate others about veteran post-service issues and to provide help to other veterans.

Stenuf founded Veteran’s Ananda Inc. a, 501(c)(3) non-profit company, homestead and retreat that provides free care, support and rehabilitation to our veterans, first responders and their families, through traditional and nontraditional treatments and therapies.

At Veteran's Ananda homestead and retreat, veterans stay in tiny homes on the farm. The nonprofit is working on expanding their efforts to create a veteran village where veterans can utilize their transitional housing and care.

Stenuf is also the Founder and CEO of Ananda Farms, LLC, the Veteran's Ananda for-profit subsidiary. Ananda Farms has a New York State Drug Enforcement Administration hemp cultivation license in Oswego County. One of the first of it's kind it this area.

The organic farm is located on a beautiful and serene 22 acre farm. Ananda Farms provides jobs, opportunities, and incentives to veterans and their families. Through the hemp grown on the farm, they are able to produce their CBD product line. A portion of Ananda Farm's proceeds are donated to Veteran's Ananda Inc.

“I believes that it is our social responsibility to help one another in our community. And if we could all come to that recognition and help one another, then we can create an evolution.” said Stenuf.
