The Art Association of Oswego announces the opening of two watercolor exhibitions at the AAO Galleries in Oswego.
Watercolor Painting – Adventures and Explorations is a solo show by artist Robert Jones and will be featured in the downstairs gallery at the AAO. Watercolor is Jones' primary medium and he uses a variety of techniques and subject matter including the natural environment and various rural scenes for his work. Jones was awarded this solo show opportunity at the 2013 AAO Annual Member's Show.
Solarity, an exhibition featuring watercolor works by several Oswego County artists will be running simultaneously in the AAO upstairs gallery. These works are created through solar painting, a process using natural materials, sunshine, and watercolor paints.
Both exhibitions will run from June 7 to July 6, 2014 at the AAO. There will be an opening reception for the public on Saturday, June 7 from 7-9pm. The AAO standard gallery hours are Saturdays and Sundays from 2-5pm or by special appointment (call 343-5675 or email info@OswegoArts.org).
In conjunction with the two exhibitions, Robert Jones will be offering a Beginning Solar Watercolor class, meeting on Saturdays, June 14 and June 21 from 9am – noon at the AAO. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about and create solar watercolor paintings. For more information, and to register for the class, contact Robert Jones at rajones1012 @ gmail.com or call 343-3164. Class size is limited to 12 participants.
The Art Association of Oswego is located in a red building at the north end of East Fourth Street, just before getting to Fort Ontario.
