The Oswego County 4-H Program will be presenting another short-term Sparks Club.

A ‘Sparks Club’ is a short, two- to four-session club that introduces youth to the 4-H program and the curriculum developed by 4-H educators. Youth joining a Sparks Club will be enrolled as a 4-H independent member for the 2023-2024 year.

There will be four sessions in this series (event link), to be held 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, April 9, 16, 23 & 30 at the Cooperative Extension Office in Mexico. Youth attending Sparks – Start a Sketchbook (Drawing Series) will explore contour drawing, shading, and texture after creating a sketchbook made from recycled items. Participants are asked to please bring an empty cereal box to the first session to make their sketchbook.

Sparks – Start a Sketchbook (Drawing Series) is open to Oswego County youth third grade and up. There is no program fee for enrolled Oswego County 4-H Members. Youth not enrolled in Oswego County 4-H will pay a $15 fee, which includes enrollment into the 2023-2024 Oswego County 4-H Program. Registration is required as space is limited. A parent or legal guardian must attend the first session to complete and sign additional enrollment paperwork.

This Sparks Club will meet at the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County Office, 3288 Main Street in Mexico. Parking is available on the street, next door along the guardrail, or behind the office. Entrance is through the front door.
