The Oswego City-County Youth Bureau offers a free Challenger Softball and Mentor Program for youth aged 5 and up with special needs.

The summer-long program runs from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays at Legends Fields, 99 Churchill Rd., Oswego.

Youth with special needs will come together to play softball for the Challenger Program. A separate Mentor Program brings in local Little League youth, junior varsity and varsity athletes to provide guidance and play with Challenger Program participants.

Challenger Program dates are July 9, July 23 and Aug. 6 and the Mentor Program runs on July 16, July 30 and Aug. 13. Participants are not required to attend all dates in order to be in the program.
