Freedom from Addiction is the title of this week’s sermon at The Reformed Presbyterian Church in Fulton (across from the Post Office).
Jesus declares that “whoever sins is the slave of sin” (John 8:34) so addiction to sin is something we all deal with, not just some of us. In fact, the Christian church can be described as “Sinners Anonymous” but, more accurately, “Repentant Sinners Known & Loved By Name”.
When addicts come to Christ through faith, the Holy Spirit crucifies their addictions and raises them to freedom in Christ’s righteousness. A war with temptation and sin ensues, but one that is fought and won in the power of Christ’s death and resurrection.
Come this Sunday at 10AM to hear more about these things. Stay for lunch and to discuss these things further. Join us on Tuesdays at 5:30PM for supper and Bible study.
