Harborfest Traffic Advisory for July 25, 2026

Write a comment

The Harborfest fireworks are scheduled for approximately 9:30 p.m.

As thousands of visitors, are expected, temporary traffic patterns, lane restrictions, and road closures will be in effect prior to and after the show to help traffic move safely and efficiently. See the attached traffic map for roadway changes.

Chief Phil Cady strongly encourages attendees to stay for the concert after the fireworks to help minimize initial traffic congestion.

Primary Traffic Pattern Changes:

Utica St. Bridge:

  • Closed for all traffic. The Bridge St. Bridge will remain open.

W. 5th St. & W. Utica St.:

  • Traffic will be controlled at the traffic signal to improve traffic flow.

W. 2nd St. & W. Utica St.:

  • Eastbound W. Utica St. reduced to one lane.

W. 1st St. & W. Utica St.:

  • Northbound W. 1st St. closes at E. Albany St.
  • Southbound W. 1st St. reduced to one lane with no left turn.
  • Traffic will be primarily directed south on W. 1st St., which connects to NY-481 and NY-690, with limited access across the Utica St. Bridge. Access to NY-481 can be made directly via the Minetto Bridge or via the bridges in Fulton.

E. 1st St. & E. Utica St.:

  • 1st St. reduced to two lanes in both directions.
  • Westbound E. Utica St. will be reduced to a single turn lane.
  • Outbound traffic will be directed south to NY-481.

Parking Options:

Free parking is available at the Romney Field House on the SUNY Oswego campus, accessible from State Route 104 West via Sheldon Avenue. A continuous shuttle service will take festival goers directly to Breitbeck Park and other Harborfest venues, making it a convenient way to avoid downtown congestion, especially on Saturday. There is limited parking and handicap parking available onsite. Overflow parking is located at the Romney Field House where shuttle service is available. For additional information on the shuttles see oswegoharborfest.com.

Plan Ahead:

  • Do not block fire hydrants, crosswalks, sidewalks, and driveways when parking on city streets. Vehicles in violation will be ticketed and towed.
  • Arrive early for the best experience.
  • Expect delays before and after the fireworks.
  • Follow all traffic control devices and officer directions.
  • Use designated parking areas.
  • Allow extra time when leaving the festival.

Limited handicap parking on site – overflow parking at romney

These temporary traffic patterns are designed to improve traffic flow while maintaining access and safety for first responders. We appreciate your patience and cooperation and look forward to a safe and enjoyable night at Harborfest 2026.
