     For people who suddenly develop mobility impairments, their home can quickly change from being a source of comfort to feeling like a prison.

Demonstrating a continued commitment to the community, Raby’s Ace Home Center not only donates the hardware to the ARISE Oswego County Ramp Program to build the ramps, but they also made a generous contribution to the Program. This gift will support ARISE’s work to provide ramps and other minor home access modifications to families in need.

     The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), a division of SUNY Oswego's Office of Business and Community Relations, seeks people willing to walk together while adding strength, enhancing balance and having fun in the company of others in walking clubs throughout Oswego County.

     SUNY Oswego's Lifestyles Center recently launched "Commit to be Fit," a fitness and general wellness campaign aimed to strengthen community bonds on campus.

     In 2010, Jodi Fiorini founded the CreekSide Counseling Services for the good of the community. As clinical director and president of the company, she strives to make sure the counseling service is a warm atmosphere filled with employees and interns of all ages and backgrounds.

     The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), a division of SUNY Oswego's Office of Business and Community Relations, and Excellus BlueCross BlueShield will sponsor a falls prevention informational workshop for veterans of military service, Wednesday, May 1, in Mexico.

     Local chiropractors, Dr. Dustin Wahrendorf D.C. and Dr. Jason Cunningham of Active Chiropractic, 89 W. Bridge St., in Oswego, have joined doctors throughout Oswego County as participants in Chiropractic Patient Appreciation Day.

     Cloth diapers have come a long way in the past 10 years, and The Great Cloth Diaper Change event serves to raise awareness of cloth diapering and create some added buzz and excitement, too.

     The Oswego County Health Department offers a variety of services to all residents of Oswego County, including preventive health services, certified home health care, long-term home health care, certified hospice, and a maternal and child health program.
