The Holiday History Shop returns to Oswego to help holiday shoppers with gift-giving ideas. Located in the former King Arthur's Restaurant at 7 W. Bridge St., Oswego, the shop features souvenirs and memorabilia from museums and historical societies from around the county.

The shop will be open from noon to 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, November 29 through December 1, and December 6 through 8.
The shop will feature items from the Friends of Fort Ontario gift shop, Friends of History in Fulton, Friends of Riverside Cemetery, The Heritage Foundation of Oswego, H. Lee White Marine Museum, John D. Murray Firefighters' Museum, Mexico Historical Society, Oswego County Historical Society (Richardson-Bates House Museum), Oswego Public Library, Oswego Railroad Museum, Safe Haven Museum and Education Center, and Scriba Historical Society.
Items sold at the Holiday History Shop make great gifts and the proceeds benefit the museums and organizations that preserve and present Oswego County's rich history to its residents and visitors. Each purchase supports these groups as they work to promote Oswego County's significant role in commercial, industrial, farming and military history.
Shoppers will enjoy sipping hot chocolate, coffee or tea as they browse a wide variety of clothing and hats, games and toys, books, CDs, models, prints, ornaments, and calendars. Memberships are also available at the shop.
Volunteers dressed in period clothing and uniforms will lend a historic atmosphere to the experience and assist shoppers with questions about merchandise and history.
All major credit cards are accepted.
The historical societies and museums would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to Victoria Usherwood Gailinas of I Heart Oswego and Anthony Pauldine for hosting and providing the space used to house the Holiday History Shop.
For more information about the Holiday History Shop, call Gail Goebricher at 343-6992.
