The Student Council at John C. Birdlebough High School in Phoenix has teamed up with the Village of Phoenix to organize a 5k and Color Run.
The Firebird Fun Run event, scheduled for Sunday March 15, is designed to bring the community together with games, raffles, and live music from Steve Maclean.
“This initiative aims to promote community unity by creating an event we hope will become an annual tradition around the beginning of spring and St. Patrick’s Day,” explained Lisa Spereno, Advisor to the JCB Student Council and the JCB Senior Class. “The goal is to offer an enjoyable day filled with games, food, raffles, and community unity for families, runners, and the general public.”
The race will begin and end at the Lock 1 Distillery Pavilion in Phoenix, with entertainment and games to be held at the pavilion throughout the race day.
Those interested in participating can pre-register at this link; t-shirts will be provided to the first 100 registrants. Children under 13 may run/walk for free, but must be accompanied by an adult. Day-of registration will be available as space allows. Tickets are $20 per adult for the 5k and $10 per adult for the 1-mile color run; discounts are available for participants aged 13-18.
“The JCB Student Council is a student-run organization that is dedicated to making our schools and community a better place,” said Brandon Slater, JCB Student Council President. The event’s proceeds will support additional student activities at the high school to further the student council’s mission.
