New Horizons Band Fills St. Francis Commons with Seasonal Sounds

New Horizons Band Fills St. Francis Commons with Seasonal Sounds

Write a comment

Members of the New Horizon Band shared the sounds of the season with those gathered at St. Francis Commons Assisted Living Residence in Oswego for a recent concert.

The band performed some traditional holiday favorites for residents and guests, and folks were heard singing along to their favorite tunes.

With Christmas only a few weeks away, it was a great way to get in the holiday spirit! Thank you band members for a festive performance.

### About the New Horizons Band:

Roy Ernst, a professor at Eastman School of Music in Rochester, founded the New Horizons Band program in 1991. The program, now known as New Horizons International Music Association (NHIMA), consists of over 200 bands, orchestras, and choruses with over 9,000 musicians in Australia, Canada, England, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, and the United States. The OCNHB&C is a Minetto-based member of NHIMA and an affiliate of Oswego County RSVP. The 42-member band, which includes strings, and 45-member chorus perform independently and jointly at various area events and adult care facilities. The Band Director is Frank Bickel.
