A Black and White Masquerade Ball being held at the American Foundry and presented by Wellhouse Ministries on Saturday January 13th, will feature Sr. Kathleen Osbelt, the founder of Francis House in Syracuse.
Sr. Kathleen now serves as the Director of Mission Outreach at Francis House and is the liaison with other homes caring for people with terminal illnesses in Central New York and throughout the country. Sr Kathleen and Nancy Light, Executive Director at Francis House, serve on the Board of Directors with Omega Home Network, a National membership organization that promotes the development and expansion of community homes for dying people. Francis House on Michaels Ave in Syracuse, was opened in 1991 to provide a home for dying people in need of 24-hour care to stay with a safe and loving environment. In 2016 Francis House staff, volunteers and friends celebrated 25 years of service to residents and their families.
The ball is a first-of-its-kind event in Oswego that will raise funds for project “Anthony House”. Anthony House will be a residential home for people living in Oswego County with terminal illnesses who need 24-hour care and their physicians have determined they are within the last three months of life. There is no cost to the residents of Anthony House.
