Team Pine took first honors at the Annual Stone Creek Golf Club Father’s Day Open.
The team of Eric "Pine" Kalterborn, Will Weimer, Bob Ruggio Sr., and Matt Ruggio shot a -11 (59) to secure the 2018 title. Team Hubel took second place and was neck and neck matching cards with Team Pine through 9 holes of play with 6 birdies on the front. At the turn a bogie on #10 by Team Hubel would be costly at the 384 yard par 4 dog leg left. Team Pine kept their foot on the accelerator birding 3 of the first 4 holes on the back setting the pace for the field along with holing birdies on #15 and #16 to card a 59. Team Hubel regrouped after 3 straight pars on #11, #12, #13 and rallied through the next 5 holes dropping an eagle on the par 5 #16 to put them within one stroke of the leaders going into #17 and #18. A par on #17 and clutch birdie on #18 would tie Team Pine, but the damage had been done when matching cards with the bogie on #10. Congratulations to Team Pine 2018 Father’s Day Open Champions!
