The Oswego State men's and women's cross country teams both compete in the SUNYAC Championships on Saturday morning – host by Fredonia.
Each squad had solid finishes in a rain-soaked muddy terrain, with Nick LeClair leading the men and Emily Gustafson pacing the women.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- A freshman, Gustafson crossed the finish line in 26:43.8 to claim 27th place.
- The next three Lakers down the chute were a trio of seniors, as Shauna Fliss, Meghan O'Dwyer and Mackenzie Ross had less than 12 second between them.
- Fliss clocked a time of 27:07.7 with O'Dwyer coming in a little more than seven second later (27:14.9).
- Ross was less than five second back of O'Dwyer, posting a time of 27:19.1.
- Rounding out the scoring for Oswego was junior Jamie Kasza, who finished inside the top 50 (27:26.5)
- On the men's side, LeClair forged the way through the unflattering conditions, securing 22nd place (30:18.1).
- LeClair's senior classmates Doug Bachman (31:22.4), Ben Lupia (31:34.7) and Tim Olmsted (31:58.3) all counted towards the team scoring on Saturday.
- Junior Andy Boyce was wedged between Lupia and Olmsted with a time of 31:52. 2 to close out the Laker scoring.
WHAT'S NEXT
Oswego will have a weekend off before the qualifiers for the NCAA Atlantic Regionals embark to Glassboro, N.J. and Rowan University on Saturday, Nov. 10.
