
The Oswego State men's track and field team displayed its ability to score points from a variety of events at Nazareth College's 2015 Roc City Classic on Saturday at Golden Flyer Stadium.
In the field events, senior Josh Maiolo led off in the long jump with a career outdoor best leap of 6.62 meters, claiming third. Also in that event, sophomore Adam Crumb, took advantage of his last jump of the day to slide into fifth place with a mark of 6.45 meters.
For the high jump, freshman Alex Ladouceur took fourth place in his first meet since winning the indoor SUNYAC title, with a jump of 1.88 meters. Freshman Brian Intermaggio took seventh place in the event as well, recording a career-best jump of 1.83 meters. Earning recognition for the throws group, senior Matt McDorman threw a season-best of 47.76 to take fifth place.
On the track, sophomore Tyler Morris opened up strong for the Lakers, taking third place in the 10,000-meter run, in a lifetime-best performance of 33:24.39, eclipsing his previous career-best by over 28 seconds. Sophomore Ben Griffin took fourth place in the 800, with a time of 1:59.07.
Leading the way for the Lakers on the track, senior Matt Wagenhauser turned in a pair of strong performances in the 400- and 200-meter runs. Wagenhauser took second in the 400 with a time of 49.46. He would take third in the 200 a few hours later, with a season-best performance and third-fastest performance of his career at 22.60.
The men will return to training for a shortened week as they prepare to head out to Cortland on Friday to take part in the two-day Red Dragon Invitational.
