
Oswego State men's swimming and diving downed Clarkson University 160-131 on Saturday afternoon at the Laker Pool. Oswego improves to 2-2 on the young season, while Clarkson moves to 1-1.
The Lakers got off to a hot start against the Golden Knights when sophomore James Dillon and freshmanRoss Gardner finished the 1,000-yard freestyle with first and second place finishes, respectively. Dillon completed the freestyle swim at 11:06.07 with Gardner finishing with a time of 11:10.48. Combined, the two swimmers earned Oswego a fast 13 points.
Oswego took home first-place finishes in the 200-yard breaststroke and the 100-yard butterfly thanks to swimmers Jacob Mallet and Sanjay Raman.
The squad claimed all 16 possible points in the 3-meter diving event, with sophomore Ben Hale claiming first place with a score of 245.30.
Building on toy's win, the Lakers will be back in the pool to play host to New Paltz at 1 p.m. next Saturday.
