News from the Assembly Minority Leader

Statement From Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay

Will Barclay

After a great deal of consideration, I have decided that I will not seek re-election to the 120th Assembly District. I intend to step down as Minority Leader in the coming days, allowing for a smooth transition to new leadership early in the legislative session.

Lakers Edge Clarkson to Continue Win Streak

OS Swim and Dive

The Oswego State men's swimming and diving team edged out host Clarkson University 120-11 for its third-straight victory on Saturday afternoon. After four dual meets this season, the Lakers are now 3-1.

Oswego won seven events in the triumph over the Knights, starting with junior James Dillon's first place time of 9:48.02 in the 800-yard freestyle. Senior Austin Nau followed that performance with a top spot finish in the 50-yard free, touching the wall in 25.26.

The third Laker win came from Nau's classmate Sanjay Raman in the 100-yard butterfly. Raman nearly won be a full second over his next closest competitor, registering a time of 1:03.53.

Dillon garnered his second win of the day in the 400-yard free by more than seven seconds, recording a time of 4:39.29. Closing out the swimming events was the relay team of Nau, Jay Choi, Dylan Tiefenthaler and Sam Carwile, capturing the 200-yard free in 1:43.42.

Rounding out the Lakers' seven event wins was sophomore Luke Snyder, who secured both the 1- and 3-meter dive competitions. Snyder won the 1-meter with 222.35 points while accumulating 223.65 points on the 3-meter board.

Oswego will put its three-meet winning streak on the line next at 6 p.m. on Friday when it travels to Alfred State to face the Pioneers.
