The Oswego State men's basketball team fell to Plattsburgh, 89-75, on Saturday. With the loss, Oswego moves to 7-8 overall and an even 4-4 in SUNYAC play, while Plattsburgh improves to 9-4 on the season and 7-1 in conference action.
Liam Sanborn led the way for the Lakers, scoring a team-high 21 points against the Cardinals, the most of his career. The freshman particularly dominated in the second half, putting up 19 points. With a little less than 14 minutes left in the latter half, Sanborn contributed six points to Oswego's string of eight unanswered points. The Staten Island native finished the game with a game-high six assists.
Teammate Tyler Pierre also put up double-digits against the Cardinals, ending the day with 14 points. The junior, who leads the Lakers with an average of 8.4 rebounds per game, collected seven rebounds (five offensive and two defensive) to tie Josh Ivey for the team-high.
The Lakers remain at home as they host New Paltz at 7:30 p.m. for more SUNYAC action on Tuesday.
