The Oswego men's and women's swimming and diving teams found success at the first day of the Monroe County College Tribune Winter Invitational on Friday.
On the women's side, the Lakers finished first with 98.5 points.
Katie Flood came in first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.04. Kasey Simmons placed third in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:46.99. Emily Karszes tied for fifth place in the 200-yard IM, coming in at 2:33.18.
The Lakers came in third place in the 400-yard medley relay with a team of Flood, Kaela Russo, Diana Galiatsatos and Ashley Rode. The team finished with a time of 4:26.46.
The men's team also finished first on Friday, finishing the day with 134 points.
Austin Nau (23.18), Tom Schmid (23.38) and Matt Pamlanye (23.45) finished first, second and third for Oswego in the 50-yard freestyle. Andrew Minnick came in third place in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:08.08.
The Lakers came in second place in the 400-yard medley relay with a team of Nau, Pasha Rusakov, Thomas Kearney and Minnick. The team finished at 3:56.86.
The second day of action began at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
