News from the Assembly Minority Leader

Statement From Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay

Will Barclay

After a great deal of consideration, I have decided that I will not seek re-election to the 120th Assembly District. I intend to step down as Minority Leader in the coming days, allowing for a smooth transition to new leadership early in the legislative session.

Oswego Players Announces Cast for Fall 2025 Production

Write a comment

The Oswego Players are proud to announce the cast of this fall’s production of Noel Coward’s classic, oft-revived “Blithe Spirit”, directed by Troy Pepper.

This is not the first time that Oswego Players has produced “Blithe Spirit” nor is this the first time Troy Pepper has directed this classic play. In 2005, “Blithe Spirit” was Troy Pepper’s directorial debut. Now, twenty years later, he is reviving this classic comic play.

“Blithe Spirit” follows meticulous, cantankerous novelist Charles Condomine, who while interviewing eccentric and flighty medium Madame Arcati for his new novel, finds himself haunted by his deceased first wife, Elvira, whom no one else can see. Comedy and chaos abound as Charles, his second wife, Ruth, their guests, and Elvira’s personalities clash, and more supernatural hijinks occur.

The fantastic local cast of this classic play includes Nolan Callahan as Charles Condomine, last seen in the Players production of “Unnecessary Farce” as Agent Frank. Charles second living wife Ruth, played by Chloe Hill, was most recently seen as Puck in the Players’ production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”. Hannah Kandt, who was last seen in the 2024 production of “While The Lights Were Out”, plays Charles ghostly first wife, Elvira. Newcomer to the Frances Marion Brown Theater, Arlo Olson plays Dr. Bradman and Jennifer Waugh, last seen on the Players Stage this March in “Birthrite” plays Mrs. Bradman.  Cindy Robbins, who was most recently seen as Hermia in the Oswego Players’ production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, portrays Condomine’s maid, Edith.  Rounding out the cast is Karla Chandler-McCord who returns to the Players’ stage as the self-proclaimed medium and psychic, Madame Arcati.

Performances will run Fridays through Sundays, September 5th, 6th, and 7th and September 12th, 13th and 14th. Friday and Saturday shows will start at 7:30 p.m., while Sunday matinees will begin at 2:00 p.m. Tickets are $17 for adults, $13 for seniors and $12 for students. Tickets are currently on sale now at oswegoplayers.org/productions or by calling the theatre’s box office at (315) 343-5138.

"Blithe Spirit" is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc. www.concordtheatricals.com.
