After a great deal of consideration, I have decided that I will not seek re-election to the 120th Assembly District. I intend to step down as Minority Leader in the coming days, allowing for a smooth transition to new leadership early in the legislative session.

Rose M. Leogrande, 66, passed away November 5^th, 2025 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse after a short illness.

She was born in Carthage, NY, the daughter of the late John and Helen (Brown) Sheltray.

Rose was a long-time resident of Fulton, NY. She loved to dance and share this passion with everyone. Rose is survived by her husband, Peter Leogrande of Fulton, stepdaughter Lisa Leogrande of Fulton, stepson Peter Leogrande Jr. of Fulton, and her grandson Richard Furbaker.

Services will be private. Arrangements are in care of the Sugar Funeral Home Inc. 224 W 2^nd St. S, Fulton, NY, 13069.
