The Oswego State women's ice hockey team has released its 2014-15 schedule; Oswego will play 25 regular season contests, including 16 games against Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Women's West opponents.
Before kicking off the regular season, Oswego will host the Toronto Midget Aeros at 3 p.m. on Oct. 25. The Lakers then hit the road to open the campaign, playing Castleton State College on Oct. 31 and New England College the next evening, each starting at 7 p.m.
Oswego's home-opener will be at 7 p.m. on Nov. 7 when Cortland comes to the Marano Center Ice Arena for a Friday and Saturday showdown to start the ECAC West slate. Saturday's faceoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
The following weekend, the Lakers will play a home-and-home series with conference-foe Utica College, traveling to Utica for a 4 p.m. game on Saturday before welcoming the Pioneers to campus for a 3 p.m. start on Sunday.
On Nov. 21 and 22, Oswego will be home for a meeting the Bears of Potsdam at 3 p.m. both days. Three days later the Lakers will bring Hamilton College to its home ice for a 2 p.m. nonconference matchup.
Oswego will journey to Aston, Penn. on Dec. 5 to play its final games before the winter break, facing Neumann University at 7 p.m. on Friday and 4 p.m. on Saturday.
The Lakers will open 2015 at the St. Michael's Tournament where they will face Plymouth State University at 4 p.m. on Jan. 9 and the host Purple Knights at 4 p.m. the following day.
ECAC West action will restart at 7 p.m. on Jan. 16 as Chatham University travels to Oswego. The two squads will meet again at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
As conference competition continues, the Lakers will take a trip to Plattsburgh to face the reigning national champions at 7 p.m. on Jan. 23 and 3 p.m. on Jan. 24. Oswego will return home to close out January with games against Buffalo State on Friday and Saturday.
The next two weekends will feature nonconference opponents William Smith College and Stevenson University. Oswego will play a home-and-home weekend with the Herons, going to Geneva, N.Y. at 4 p.m. on Feb. 7 before going back to the Marano Center at 3 pm. on Sunday. The Lakers will host the Mustangs of Stevenson on Feb. 13 and 14.
In the final weekend of the regular season, Oswego will trek to Elmira, N.Y. to face the Soaring Eagles at 3 p.m. on Feb. 21 and 22.
Postseason action starts the next weekend with the ECAC West First Round taking place at the high seed's home ice on Feb. 28.
