Oswego Sub Shop won the first game over Scriba Electric 17–3.
Sam Czarnecki and Matt Howard led the Sub Shop with 4 goals each, followed by Matt Donovan and Evan Sovring (3 each), Kevin Furletti (2) and Matt Lloyd (1). Goalie Tom Czarnecki recorded 11 saves. Dom Cianfarano scored all three goals for Scriba Electric; Adam Doviak stopped nine shots.
Doty Construction showed improvement last week in an overtime loss. Monday, they went a step further and upset number-one seeded Subway 8 - 7. Both teams featured very balanced scoring, and the game turned into a battle of two novice goalies. Gerritt Crisafulli stopped 20 shots for Subway, while Mike Tucker stepped in and made 17 saves for the winners.
The championship game between Doty Construction and Oswego Sub Shop will be played at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, at the outdoor box. In case of rain, the game will be played Thursday evening at the same time.
