The Oswego State men’s soccer team fell to No. 7/8 Oneonta on Saturday at Laker Turf Stadium with a score of 3-1. With the loss, the Lakers move to 6-2-1 overall and 1-1-0 in the SUNYAC while the Red Dragons move to 5-1-1 and 1-1-0 in the SUNYAC.
Caleb Asamoah scored the Lakers’ lone goal. Just over 25 minutes into the game, he dribbled the ball down the field, popping it over the goalie’s head and into the net. It was the sophomore’s sixth goal of the season, putting him in second for Laker goals. Hassan Musa leads the team with seven. Musa also led the Lakers with three shots – two on-goal – against Oneonta on Saturday.
The Red Dragons only had five shots on goal during the game. In the second half, freshman goalkeeper Brian Terra did not allow a goal, while stopping two Oneonta attempts.
Oswego continues SUNYAC play on Friday when the team travels to Plattsburgh to face the Cardinals at 3 p.m.
