Baseball Reaches 20-Win Plateau Yet Again

OS Baseball

The Oswego State baseball team made it two-straight days with a win as it shutout host St. Lawrence University 7-0 at Tom Fay Field on Wednesday afternoon. Oswego's victory marks the fourth-straight year the program has reached the 20-win plateau, as it improved to 20-6 while the Saints dropped to 12-10.

Charles Arcuri picked up with second win of the year by throwing six, one-hit innings. The sophomore struck out five batters in victory, averaging less than 10 innings thrown per frame. Cody LaFlamme and Andy Stuart closed out the remaining three innings, allowing two hits apiece with Stuart striking out one.

At the plate, Myles Kutscher had a game-high three RBI by going 2-for-4 with two doubles. The sophomore also scored twice and swiped a bag. Also finishing with two hits were Eric Hamilton, Jordan Giller and Zach Kollar. Giller drove in two teammates, Hamilton tallied an RBI and a run scored while Kollar crossed the plate once. Giller and Kollar each had doubles in the outing.

Wes Randall and Kyle Simmons rounded out the Lakers notching hits on the day, each going 1-for-3 while Randall scored twice.

Oswego will be back in action at 3 p.m. on Friday when it hosts Fredonia in a single-game to kick off a three-game weekend series.
