
The Oswego State men's cross country team had a solid outing at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational, hosted by Roberts Wesleyan College on Saturday morning. Oswego captured fourth place in the 24-squad field, with its top five runners finishing in the top 40 of the individual leaderboard.
Freshman Dylan McCarthy paced the Lakers with a time of 26:08.4, which was good for 12th place. Not far behind was sophomore Colin Greenseich, trailing McCarthy by less than 30 seconds (26:38.0), to collect a 21st place.
Ending the race just two places apart were senior Ben Griffin and freshman Nicholas Leclair, crossing the finish line in 26:48.8 and 26:50.7, respectively. Those two finishes were good for the 30th and 32nd spots on the leaderboard.
Rounding out the top five for Oswego was sophomore Justin Sommer, logging 26:53.7 to complete the course.
The Lakers will be back in action at 11 a.m. on Saturday when it travels to Geneseo where the Knights will host the Pre-Regional Meet.
