
The Oswego State men's swimming and diving team opened its 2015-16 campaign with a 142-94 loss to visiting Rochester Institute of Technology on Wednesday night in Laker Pool. Oswego is now 0-1 on the year while the Tigers improve to 1-1.
In the 11th event of the evening, the Lakers captured the top spot of the 1-meter dive, as sophomore Luke Snyder took first place with a score of 224.90. During the next event for the men, senior Sanjay Raman clinched a first-place finish with a time of 55.95 in the 100-yard fly, nearly two seconds faster than his closest opponent.
Later in the outing, Snyder showed his skill on the diving board once again, securing first place with 208.05 points in the 3-meter event.
Austin Nau just missed out on the 100-yard free victory, as the sophomore took second place with a time of 49.77, just .69 behind the winner. Also finding his way to second place was freshman Jay Choi, turning in a time of 2:09.06 in the 200-yard IM.
The Lakers will return to the pool for another home meet, starting at 1 p.m. on Saturday against Oneonta.
