Oswego State men's track had several individuals partake in Boston University's annual David Hemery Valentine Invitational over the weekend. The Lakers opened with one event on Friday and concluded with six on Saturday, setting personal records and narrowly missing a school mark.
Colin Greenseich continued his impressive senior campaign with a new personal record in Oswego's final event of the weekend, the 5000-meter run. Greenseich missed a new school record by just four seconds, clocking a 15:13.91 for a new career-best.
Earlier on Saturday, Shawn Rousseau, Zach Levine and Charles Callin each set personal bests, with Kevin Clifford marking a new indoor career mark. Rousseau was timed at 2:04.52 in the 800-meter for his new record while Levine (51.24) and Callin (49.90) set each of theirs in the 400-meter.
Clifford – a junior – was in on the 800 with Rousseau, reaching the finish line in 1:59.93 for his indoor best and just .10 off his overall record.
On Friday, Callin, Rousseau, Tim Olmsted and Nick LeClair all took part in the distance medley relay, combining for a time of 10:31.07. LeClair (4:22.02), Olmsted (4:37.99) and Andy Boyce (4:37.64) each competed in the mile run on Saturday as well.
The group of individuals will return to the larger squad for a quick turnaround, as both the men's and women's track and field teams compete at the Cornell Invite tomorrow (Sunday, Feb. 11).
