Oswego Triumphs Over Canton on Senior Day

OS Lacross The Oswego State men`s lacrosse team opened its Senior Day game on an 11-0 run and never looked back, cruising past the visiting SUNY Canton Kangaroos 21-6 on the South Athletic Field. With the win, the Lakers move to .500 at 6-6 while Canton drops to 3-7 on the year.

After scoring the contest's first 11 goals, Oswego continued its assault on the back of the net, tallying two more to lead 13-5 at halftime. The Lakers added eight goals in the second half to arrive at the final total.

At the half, Oswego honored its six members of the Class of 2014: Chris Porten, Bryan Martin, Tyler Calkin, Matt Festa, Brian Murphy and Bill Scala. Porten finished the game with one goal while Festa notched an assist. Festa also led the team with six ground balls in the outing while contributing with six faceoffs won in nine attempts.

Jordan Michele got into the points game, recording his first goal of the year for the Lakers 12th of the game. Michele did not stop there, going on for another goal before distributing an assist for a three-point game.

Mark Niechcial, Matt Palmer, Bryan Weinert, DJ Sellick, Michael Koos and Troy Crevier each finished with a goal.
