Three Oswego State men's ice hockey players earn All-American honors

Oswego State senior men's ice hockey players Paul Rodrigues, Luke Moodie and Zach Josepher were recognized by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) as 2013 Division III CCM Men's Hockey All-America East Team honorees at a banquet held Thursday evening, March 14, in conjunction with this weekend's NCAA Division III Men's Hockey Championships in Lake Placid.

Rodrigues was a First Team selection, while Moodie and Josepher were Second Team selections as the Lakers received three All-America awards for the first time in program history.

Rodrigues, the 2013 SUNYAC Herb Hammond Most Valuable Player, led the conference with 25 points on five goals and 20 assists. Nationally, the Etobicoke, Ontario native is tied for the Division III lead in assists with 30 and ranks second in points (45) and points per game (1.61). Over the course of his four-year career, Rodrigues has tallied 132 points on 49 goals and 83 assists in 110 games.

Moodie, an Oakville, Ontario native, earned First Team All-SUNYAC honors at forward after pacing the conference in goals at 14 and ended up second in points at 24. Nationally, Moodie ranks second with 22 goals, including a tie for a nation's best nine power-play goals, and sixth at 1.54 points per game. This season he is second on the team in scoring with 43 points on 22 goals and 21 assists. He is a member of the 100-point club, and sits at 131 points on 63 goals and 68 assists in 110 career games.

Josepher, a defenseman from Wantagh, N.Y., earned First Team All-SUNYAC recognition this year after finishing second in scoring among conference defensemen. He tallied nine goals and 13 assists for 22 points in 28 games this season, while helping anchor the third-stingiest defense in Division III that allows 1.75 goals per game. Last year, he received Second Team All-SUNYAC recognition as well.

The trio joins current All-American Jon Whitelaw, who was a 2012 Second Team selection, on the present roster.
