Ten Years of Tours in Oswego

Oswego Tours is Open!

“We started with a Food & History Tour and over the years added a Haunted Tour and a Just the History Tour,” reminisces owner, Colette Astoria. “It’s hard to believe it’s been 10 years!”

Women's Track and Field, Clifford, Olmsted Honored

The Oswego State women's track and field team has earned All-Academic Team honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), while Kevin Clifford and Tim Olmsted of the men's track and field team received individual All-Academic honors.

With a GPA of 3.18, Oswego was one of 291 squads honored by the USTFCCCA. A team must achieve a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00 in order to receive the All-America distinction. Fellow women's SUNYAC teams Fredonia, Geneseo, Oneonta and Plattsburgh were bestowed with the awards as well.

Oswego has been recognized by the USTFCCCA for its academic success before. In the past five years, the Lakers have earned All-Academic Team honors on three separate occasions.

The Lakers have also been recognized with All-Academic individual honors in the past, and Clifford and Olmsted continued the tradition during the 2017-18 seasons. Academically, individuals must achieve a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 to qualify. They also must have competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship or finished the regular season ranked in the national top-50 (for individuals) or ranked in the national top-35 (for relays).

Clifford, who is entering his senior year and is majoring in marketing, has earned a GPA of 3.92. Olmsted, who is also entering his senior year, holds a GPA of 3.43 with a major in technology management. The two athletes competed together in the distance medley relay during the indoor season, ranking 29th nationally.

Both the men's and women's track and field teams will look to continue their success in the classroom and on the competition surfaces when the academic year begins.
